Summer Events Returning this Year

Now that Covid restrictions are easing, many events and festivals are making a comeback this year. If you’re already starting to plan your summer, here are some fun events and festivals to add to your calendar.

The RBC Bluesfest takes place from July 7-17 at Lebreton Flats in Ottawa. There are tons of artists playing each day so you’ll want to narrow down your favourites and plan accordingly. You can purchase a one day pass, 3-day pass or full festival pass. Some of the big name artists include Alanis Morissette, Jack Johnson, The National, Alexisonfire, TLC, Rage Against the Machine and much more.

Pride Toronto returns this June with tons of exciting events starting on June 1st. Some of the most notable events besides the parade (June 24-26) are the Cabana Pool Party on June 15 and the Island Party on June 19. For more information be sure to follow along on their website for upcoming events in June.

If you’ve never been to Caribana (former name and the one I still use), this is your year! They’ve extended the festivities to last from July 7 to August 1 with the parade taking place on July 20th. According to the Caribana website, over a million tourists are expected in Toronto during the main Caribana weekend, taking place from July 28 to August 1.

Osheaga is one of the most exciting music festivals in Canada and takes place the weekend of July 29-31 in Montreal, Quebec. This 3-day festival has huge names such as Asap Rocky, Foo Fighters, Big Sean, Arkells, Dupa Lipa, Cairbou and much more! While 3 days at a festival seems like a lot for me, I’m ok with picking my favourite day to attend and spending some free time eating and exploring Montreal.

Toronto’s annual Indy is on track to return in 2022. This popular event takes place July 15-17th at Exhibition Place. Tickets will be on sale soon!

Hope you get a chance to revisit some of your favourite events and festivals this year!
